The term "shell" is used much in computer terms, but I have no idea what this term means?.
Then I just thought a little definition might help. This "shell" term could refer to many different meanings on a computer. Here's just one example. That really means what it means when it refers to the "Shell" quote F0 entry matches the Shell = statement, under the [Boot] section of the System.ini file. The shell = statement in the SYSTEM.INI file is used to describe the program serve as a reservoir for the operating system. UNQUOTE I know this might be a bit difficult to explain in a few paragraphs, but is it possible define this a little to explain what she meant by the word or the term "shell"
Shell is the software that interacts with you from the O. / S. The graphical interface of Windows that comes with all Windows O / S is one of those. You can actually buy replacement GUI for those who want more features. This is essentially what the processing of your keyboard and mouse actions and then transforms them into actions within the system. It is also used on command like interface (for example, in Windows command.com) as different shells. Those who, like Korn, Bourne, CShell, etc. each with its own scripting language and interface. In these cases, the shell takes the string you enter in the keyboard and triggers an action as a result. SHELL The term is used because it is outside, so you can "see". Like an eggshell.
